I love this soothing palette of light blues, cream, earth tones and a crisp white that gives the conservatory/family room a sophisticated, summery feel.
Did you notice how the two sofa's are back to back, with a console table between them. This gives two distinct seating areas.
A pair of black metal chandeliers suit the dining room’s simple sensibility.
I'm crazy about this painted compass rose on the dining room floor.
The wall color and Tiffany blue ceiling, and chandelier are very similar to my bedroom in my last home. It's a very soothing, romantic combination.
The table looks like it's been painted with chalk paint and don't you just love the little shelled box on the bottom shelf with the blue limpet shells?
The master bath is finished with glass cabinetry and mother-of-pearl tile. Shimmery glamour!
The architecture of the new family room includes an eyebrow dormer that echoes the home’s front façade. And what about this pool with a view of the cape? L.O.V.E.
I’m that person that when driving down a coastal road, I look at all the beautiful homes and wonder what it looks like inside. That’s what’s so fun for me about doing this blog — I get to “peek” inside these gorgeous homes — and so do you!
This gorgeous home belongs to a young family who knew exactly what they wanted. They fell in love with the location of a boxy, nondescript home on the cape. That home had an ideal location, but the home left a lot to be desired — it didn’t have any personality! The family decided to buy it because of the location and set about hiring the right architect and designer to transform it into the home of their dreams. My mom is from Boston; we used to spend summer’s on the Cape. I love it there; that’s probably where I get my love of coastal homes (that and living in Florida.) It’s been years since I’ve been back, though, and my husband has never been there. We need to fix that. This home is beautiful. To answer your question, yes. It would more than suffice.
